Celebrity Walk
WV Wellness Walking Campaign held the second Celebrity Walk at the rail trails in Morgantown, which took place on April 2, 2005. Celebrities all over Morgantown, including WV Girls' Basketball players, WVU Cheerleaders, the Mountaineer, WVU Twirler Lindsey Kuhn, City Councilman Bill Boon, and Mayor Ron Justice, came to the event to show their support for the campaign.
Before the community joined the celebrities for the “Walk of Fame,” Holli Smith spoke about the importance of staying active.
The WVU Cheerleaders, Ashley McCauley, Chris Williams, Steve Ball and Holli Bumgarner led a group cheer to encourage motivation. Afterwards, the crowd began singing the state theme song, “Old Country Roads.” Following the song, the WVU Female basketball players, LaQuanda Brandon, LaQuita Owens, Kristin Heminger, and Jeriece Lee, led a crowd stretch before the walk.
Once everyone was stretched
out, it was time to put words into action as the Celebrity Walk began.
Overall, it was a nice turnout and everyone had fun.
